About the treatment

What is IV Sedation?

IV sedation can help some nervous patients manage dental treatment. At Danbury Dental Care, it may be considered alongside a wide range of procedures after a medical and dental assessment.

Sedative medicine is delivered through a small cannula, usually in the arm or hand. The dose is adjusted during the appointment, with the aim of helping you feel relaxed while you remain conscious and able to respond to simple instructions. Awareness and recall vary between patients.

Dr Kaly Gengeswaran (BDS London, PG Dip Sedation, GDC 265139) provides over 100 hours of IV sedation annually. IV sedation is £350 per hour in addition to the treatment fee, and we provide a written estimate before treatment.

No Judgement, Only Care

If the thought of dentistry makes you anxious, you are not alone. We take time to understand what worries you, explain the options clearly and plan care without judgement. It does not matter how long it has been since your last visit.

What each patient needs varies. Dr Kaly will review your medical history, medicines and planned dental treatment before discussing whether IV sedation is suitable. If it is not the right option, we will explain other ways to support you through treatment.
