Careful gum reshaping
A gingivectomy removes selected excess gum tissue. It may be considered for periodontal, restorative or aesthetic reasons after the gums, teeth and supporting tissues have been assessed.
Dr Robin Ratcliffe will establish whether tissue removal, reshaping or another approach is most appropriate for the clinical goal.

A laser may be considered for selected gingivectomy procedures, while a conventional technique may be more appropriate in other cases. The choice depends on the tissue, supporting structures and intended result.
Dr Robin will explain the proposed method, alternatives, limitations, anaesthetic and aftercare before treatment.
