About the treatment

What is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured resin to repair or reshape selected teeth. It may be considered for small chips, worn edges, minor gaps or changes in tooth shape when the teeth, gums and bite are suitable.

Some cases need little or no drilling, but this cannot be assumed for every tooth. The amount of preparation, number of visits and expected maintenance depend on the starting condition and the change being planned. Composite can stain, chip or wear and may need polishing, repair or replacement over time.

Assessment-led care

Repair, Reshape and Refresh Your Smile

Composite can be added to selected areas to repair a chip, alter an edge or close a small space. It does not address every cosmetic or functional concern, and orthodontics, whitening, veneers or restorative care may be more appropriate in some cases.

Dr Emma Still (GDC 265132) and Dr Tom Metselaar (GDC 296169) will assess your teeth and discuss the available shade and shape options. Composite is matched to the planned tooth colour, so whitening may need to be considered first if it forms part of your wider plan.

Composite Bonding FAQs

Questions about composite bonding

Your consultation is the right place to discuss suitability, alternatives and what your own care may involve.

Shade options are discussed during planning and can be compared with your natural teeth. A digital preview may help communicate the proposal, but it is not a guarantee of the final appearance.
